Grain processing Facility in East Africa

Grain processing Facility in East Africa

Chief have supplied a complete grain processing facility in East Africa.

The capacity of the facility is 50t/h.

A gravity intake has been installed for incoming wet grain to be unloaded to.

Two rotary cleaners fully clean the grain, then a 300T wet bin with complete aeration system and a Chief model CD 5/60, 15t/h continuous mixed flow dryer take care of drying the grain to 14% moisture content - ready for safe storage.

A 1,000T silo, with full floor aeration system takes care of main storage, and then on to a reciprocating cleaner for fine cleaning before bagging.

Reliability and durability are important factors in areas such as this, as well as fast and efficient backup.

Chief has supplied its latest state of the art, fully automated touchscreen control panel to control all aspects of the plant.

An internet connection is included, so the plant can be monitored and controlled remotely, which will help especially at harvest times when time is valuable.

This also means a Chief engineer can log on from anywhere in the world to offer assistance where necessary.

Chief worked with the customer from initial concept and design of the plant, preparing layout/detail drawings and all necessary civil drawings necessary to enable a local contractor to prepare the foundations.

Once the machinery was manufactured and safely delivered to site, full installation was carried out by our highly experienced team of engineers and site supervisors, including commissioning and staff training.
